In addition to negotiating record deals with Sony, Elektra, Motown, MCA, Atlantic, Priority, Capitol/EMI, Curtom, Polydor, Kapp, Maverick, Warner Brothers, Epic and Universal; as well as publishing deals with Warner/Chappell, Universal, EMI Music, Rondor, Famous Music; and, deals with performance societies BMI, ASCAP and SESAC; and, deals with the Harry Fox Agency, here are some personal management highlights:
Represent Billboard Award winning and multiplatinum Producer and Songwriter Andrew “Drew” Lane and his Drew Right Music International record label. With over 50 Million in sales, Lane’s credits include Hannah Montana and the High School Musical phenomenon, Disneymania, Mary J. Blige, Toni Braxton, the Backstreet Boys, Manny Fresh, Irene Cara, Speech, Keith Sweat and a host of other celebrities.
Managed Lisa Raye’s deal with New Line Cinema for Ice Cube’s film, The Players Club which launched her acting and television career. Her co-stars included Ice Cube, Jamie Foxx, Bernie Mac, John Amos, Master P and Terrence Howard. Lisaraye is one of the top actresses in television and film.
Represent Athena Cage, whose multiplatinum solo recording of “All or Nothing” from the Universal/MTV Motion Picture Save the Last Dance is a pop/dance classic. She is the former lead singer of girl group Kut Klose on “I Like”, and duettist with Keith Sweat on the R&B classic “Nobody”, and co-wrote and performed on the #1 multiplatinum hit “Twisted” for which she received BMI’s “Pop Song of the Year,” and, negotiated her Priority Records deal. Athena is working on a new project.
Handled television for Keith Sweat and booked him on The Wayans Brothers and Martin TV shows. Negotiated a detective’s role for Keith on the Martin show and two episodes where Keith played himself on The Wayans Brothers.
Represent Andy and Matt Sylvester and their Blue Ibis Films. These highly creative filmmakers, writers/producers head a young film company that is destined to become a go-to company in the near future. Currently, the talented duo are in discussions with several networks and cable companies about a new reality TV show, while several full length feature films are in development.
Represent new world music pop sensation Trishna. Trishna is currently in the studio with super producer Andrew Lane recording her debut CD. Her first single is scheduled to be released on Drew Right International Records early in the fall with the CD to follow late fall.
Represented the late Grammy Award Winning Writer Skip Scarborough who wrote for Earth, Wind & Fire, Anita Baker, Patti LaBelle, LTD, Whitney Houston, Friends of Distinction, Bill Withers, the Emotions, and George Benson, and many other hit artists; and penned such mega hits as “Lovely Day,” “Can’t Hide Love,” “Love or Let Me Lonely,” “Don’t Ask My Neighbors,” and “Love Changes.” Negotiated Skip’s deal with Sony Records to produce and write for Nancy Wilson.
Played an initial role in the launch of the career of Atlantic Record’s legendary Donny Hathaway. While at Howard University, Donny was discovered in the basement of the Fine Arts Building playing prolifically with both hands and was tapped by TCG founder to play on and arrange “Court of Love” and “The Beginning of My End” for sensational male group The Unifics.
Represented the late Carl Anderson. Carl was discovered in a nightclub in Georgetown, DC as lead singer of rock band “Second Eagle” and signed to management. Realizing his potential as a solo artist, he was taken to the Willilam Morris Agency through which an audition was arranged for Carl to audition for the touring company of Jesus Christ Superstar. He landed the role and negotiations were handled with the Robert Stigwood Organization for the role of Judas, and subsequently for the same role in the Broadway and Universal Pictures’ release Jesus Christ Superstar. Negotiated Carl’s deal with Motown Records.
Represent producer/writer and Music Director Allan “Grip” Smith. Negotiated Grip’s million dollar publishing deal and his agreement to co-produce and co-write on the multi-platinum self-titled album “Keith Sweat”; three songs on LSG’s multiplatinum album; Dru Hill’s platinum album; Immature’s single “Xtra, Xtra” and Ol Skul’s single with Xscape “Am I Dreaming.” Brief Discography
Represented Bobby L. “Jo Jo” White, Jr., who starred as Hank Aaron in Denzel Washington’s Oscar nominated Mundy Lane production of TBS’ Hank Aaron, Chasing The Dream. Bobby went on to appear in Hope & Redemption: the Lena Baker Story and Army Wives.
Negotiated TH Productions agreement for the multi-platinum Silk Album “Lose Control,” which includes mega-hits “Freak Me”, “Lose Control”, & “Girl U for Me”. The former Atlanta-based production company produced prolific tracks.
Newcomer singer and actress Alyssa Blake is currently in the recording studio with a new LA-based production company working on her debut CD. Blake is looking forward to the release of her first single and CD in early to late winter.
