Alyssa Blake
It’s almost as if she had no choice. Blake was born into entertainment royalty . . . the family of singers Whitney Houston, Dionne Warwick, Cissy Houston, and actor/comedian John Witherspoon. Wow. Is it possible the musical bloodline could filter through to yet another generation?
The simple answer is yes! It has!
Talk about pressure? But Blake takes it all in stride. She started singing at the tender age of 3. At 14, another family member, uncle Damon Elliott, produced “Family First” which Blake and the rest of her talented family sings on and appeared in the Tyler Perry movie “Daddy’s Little Girls.”
In 1998, Blake appeared in the film “Mama Flora’s Family.” as young Flora. In 2005 she had a role in the film “Six Feet Under” as Daisy. So Blake’s talent is versatile.
So versatile she was a member of a championship cheerleading team (Stingray’s All-stars), and a member of the championship dance team (Floor Rockers) — and a track star!
Today, her voice belies her years, and it’s clear having the right genes and having been a part of girl group Bella Steez has served her well. Blake is busy at work in the studio on her debut project.
