Matt Sylvester

Matt’s experience in creative fields includes writing, composing / performing / recording music, managing a music act, and assuming several above and below the line responsibilities for Blue Ibis Films. Since 2004, he’s been pitching feature length screenplays to Major Studios, independent production companies, and development companies while working on new short films, screenplays, and novels.

As a writer/producer/director for Blue Ibis, Matt has the ability to do what he enjoys most – creating a story on paper and then physically constructing it for capture by the camera lens. Post-production offers different but equally satisfying pursuits as the story is edited, music composed and added, and the full vision comes to life.

Matt admits he and brother Andy work in one of the most challenging and competitive industries there is, but believes feature filmmaking is the pinnacle medium of art. His work is influenced by both classic and modern films, heralded and unknown directors, and dark, archetypal, occult topics in general. Movies such as 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, THE EXORCIST, EVIL DEAD, AIRPLANE, THE BANK DICK, and THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK are examples of pictures and plot-lines that have helped shape his creative perspective.
