Free Golla
Sports-Entertainment-Lifestyle reporter and host Free Golla got her journalism pedigree at “The” Ohio State University and landed her first job at WVKO in Columbus as a news analyst and commentator in 2008. Wanting to round out her experience with radio, she moved to Power 107.5, part of Radio-One, as on-air morning co-host from 2010 to 2012. However, thriving in the deadline-intensive, 24-7 newsroom environment, she moved to New York in 2012 to hone her craft in the fast-paced, pressurized atmosphere of the Big Apple.
In New York, and ahead of schedule in the television world, she began working not for one, but two, television networks: UBCTV and PureSportsNY. Her duties include writing, producing and hosting feature segments, interviewing coaches, players, celebrities and fans, participating in press conferences, sideline reporting, and operating social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).
She’s covered the New York Jets, the New York Knicks, the American Basketball Association, and interviewed a number of sports and entertainment celebrities including tennis bad boy, John McEnroe.
In July, she will transition from New York to Washington, DC where she will begin working as a sports and feature reporter for the Washington Redskins under the tutelage of renowned sports host and voice of the Washington Redskins, Larry Michael. She will begin formal duties covering the team at training camp next month.
