Andy Sylvester
Andy’s film production career began under the banner of his original production company, Sylvester Bros Productions. They produced more than ten short comedy films, three of which were sold to Discovery Communications for broadcast in 2006.
Within a fairly short span of time, he realized that film was something he truly loved, and was something he wanted to pursue full time. To that end, he and brother Matt formed Blue Ibis Films, and began working in earnest to produce a feature length film. Since forming Blue Ibis, in addition to developing feature-length projects, they have made several dramatic short films designed to reflect our long-term vision for our company. It’s his sincerest hope that no matter what they’re doing in life, they continue to self-produce no-budget shorts. The challenge of making something interesting with no money, crappy equipment, no sets, and no real actors is, he thinks, a very pure form of the art and an exercise he believes will always keep him an honest filmmaker.
Professionally, he’s been a visual designer, graphic designer and production artist for the past ten years. In addition to his responsibilities to Blue Ibis, he continues to run a moderately successful freelance graphic design business. He’s designed award-winning publication covers and promotional materials for the IMF and World Bank, and promotional materials for Trump Towers. He’s responsible for all graphic design work for Blue Ibis.
